BBC NEWS | Technology | Microsoft reveals Vista checklist.
I have no idea why Microsoft requires more and more hardware to run her operating system! In fact that is one of the most detrimental characters about the Windows products.
My server has just been upgraded from Red Hat 7.2 to Fedora Core 5 with the same hardware specification. Nothing bad happened, but with tremendous improvements in both startup and shutdown time. Slimming down the kernel, improving system performance and stability are the ultimate goals of OS development afterall.
And now Microsoft is recommending 1GB RAM to run Windows Vista, does it mean that I need another 1GB to run other applications?
